This optional service is a fast and economical way to safeguard your business from losses due to returned checks. NCN is a national database that contains over 120 million checking accounts. NCN receives a steady stream of bad check information from all across the United States and Canada to provide your business with reliable and current information. Using NCN, you will be instantly notified if a customer has written "bad" checks, or if a customer has recently been conducting unusual or suspicious check writing activity. Presto offers NCN Check Verification as a supplement to our electronic check and check conversion products. It is also available as a stand-alone service for merchants who want check verification, but who do not process checks electronically. Either way, service fees are billed on a per-transaction basis.
